Gift of Sight Project
A small group of Rotarians and partners visited Nepal to experience the "Gift of Sight" eye camp to be funded by four clubs from our District.
Longford, Central Launceston, Deloraine and Latrobe successfully applied for a District Simplified Grant through the Rotary Foundation to support this project.
It is expected that 5000 Nepalese people will attend the camp and at least 500 will have their eyesight fully restored by cataract surgery.
Many more will be treated for various eye diseases
The group representing the four clubs were away for ten days andhad the opportunity to visit Katmandu, Chitwan National Park, Pokhera as well as view Mt Everest and the Himalayas .
