Beyond Blue Memorandum of Understanding
Rotary Tasmania, District 9830 has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Beyond Blue organisation
for this Rotary year. The main focus of the joint agreement between Beyondblue and District 9830, is to raise awareness for depression and
anxiety, and to remove the stigma from the words Mental Health.
The agreement will be launched at a "Gala Dinner " on 16 October at Ulverstone which high profile speakers. Booking details to attend this dinner now available. A similar function will be held in Hobart and Launceston later in the Rotary year. The partnership will also see events such as health forums and mental health days held throughout the state.

All expenses must be within budget and approved by the District Governor and District Treasurer before being incurred.

Rotary Foundation has opened a Disaster Relief Fund for Pakistan. DG Ted believes this is a suitable vehicle for donating to the Pakistan disaster and if Clubs intend to donate to this cause, to do so by sending contributions direct to

DG Ted have decided to start the appeal off by donating $5000 from his District Designated Fund on behalf of District 9830

HAITI RELIEF APPEAL
The Haiti Eartquake Relief Appeal has now concluded,with over $100,000 being contributed by June 2010.
The Tasmanian
Government has matched this amount.
Funds will be divided equally to the Rotary Foundation Haiti Appeal and a wheelchair program for those people badly injured by the earthquake. Details here

In District 9830, every Club, every Rotarian, their partners and volunteers
are covered by the Rotary National Insurance Program. Insurance is
available for officially constituted Rotary activities, so make sure they
are fully documented and minuted.
