EXPLANATORY NOTES and TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. DELEGATE REGISTRATION. The delegate registration is for the full conference registration. This will entitle you to access all the conference events in the programme (unless otherwise indicated).
  2. CLOSING DATES FOR REGISTRATION. Early-bird registration closes on Tuesday 22 December 2009 (registering by this date will entitle you to the Early-bird discount). Final registrations close on Friday 12 March 2010.
  3. CONFERENCE COSTS. Cost for the conference and related events are shown in the table below:

Bus Transport to/from Government House—Friday night, for the Government House Reception. This is in addition to the registration costs.

  1. GOVERNMENT HOUSE RECEPTION. The first 200 registered delegates will be invited to a reception at Government House on Friday Night 26 March 2010, prior to the opening of the Conference.
  2. BUS TRANSPORT FOR GOVERNMENT HOUSE. This is for those delegates who prefer to not use their own transport to Government House for the Friday night Reception. This is for pick-up from, and return to, Wrest Point Hotel. Please note that there is limited parking at Government House.
  3. PARTNERS. If a non-registered partner is accompanying a delegate to the Conference there are events for which you may register the partner individually, for example, the Saturday night dinner. Partners may only attend the events for which they have registered.
  4. RYLA, ROTARACT, EXCHANGE AND OTHER STUDENTS. Sponsoring Clubs are invited to pay the registration cost for these students. If you are registering for a concession registration, you may wish to contact your Club before submitting your registration form.
  5. NEW MEMBER BREAKFAST. Clubs are asked to encourage all New Members of 2009/10 to register for the Conference and are invited to‘sponsor’their participation at an exclusive ‘New Members’ Breakfast’, 7.30 a.m., Saturday 27 March. New Members will have the opportunity to share their vision with a keynote speaker for the occasion and report back to Clubs.
  6. ACCOMMODATION. If you need accommodation for the Conference, Wrest Point has made a number of packages available from which you may select. You will need to book these packages directly withWrest Point on the enclosed ‘Wrest Point Hotel—Accommodation Booking Form’ with the Reference Number: 184359. Please use this form as it is pre-coded for the Rotary 2010 Conference. Using other booking methods will prevent you from getting the Conference discounted packages.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS


 

Kathryn Thomas is a Global Learning
Consultant within the Learning and Knowledge
team in IBM and is currently leading its global
team with responsibility for a range of core
professional development education. Kathryn
has been a teacher and early childhood
consultant with the Tasmanian Education
Department in the 1980s.


Julia Rollings is an author, mother and child welfare worker. She has had feature articles published in local, national and overseas
newspapers, journals and magazines. Julia’s contributions have been included in several books including ‘Our Own’ by Trish Maskew, ‘Touched by Adoption volume 3’ by Blair Matthews, and ‘Adoptive Parenting’ by Sheena Macrae.
Following a career in acute paediatrics in the UK
and South Africa,

Sue Jenkins specialised in
Community Paediatrics, working as a clinician
and researcher at the Thomas Coram Research
Unit in London before becoming a Consultant
Community Paediatrician in City and Hackney in
1987. During this time she was also a member
of the Editorial Board of MacKeith Press.
