Introducing the two teams travelling overseas this year -

DISTRICT 7570 (Western Virginia and the North-East Tennessee) USA:

OUTBOUND TASMANIAN TEAM: 20th February—26th March 2011

Team leader Glen Woolley reported on 13 March
We are at the District conference in Hot Springs, West Virginia at the Grand Homestead Hotel. This morning we presented to the District Conference. We dedicated the presentation to PDG Maurice Hill who is a great Rotarian, Tasmanian and man. We then took them on a journey to our home. The team did real good. The pictures, the plane trip, and lastly and more importantly - the singing. It went really well.
DG Pat gave me a kiss at the end when I presented her with the gift from DG Ted and Colleen and we have had so many congratulatory remarks. I shipped over to the USA over 100 soft Tasmania Devils. With the permission of the DG we put them up for sale after our presentation. Within 10 minutes they were all gone - we raised $1,040 which we have presented to District 7570 for their foundation fund.

Discover their impressions -

Katy reports "My first night here I ate wallaby curry with rice.  The funny part of the story is that my host "mum" didnt tell me what it was until the next day.  However, the rest of my team found out the night before at the pub.  So, as always, it was a little joke on me :)  The second night here we were welcomed with a huge bbq at a bloke's house named Dennis.  We had kangaroo sausage, lamb burgers, venison steaks and the likes.  "
