A Role for you in Learn Grow
From modest beginnings a few years ago, Learn Grow is now growing on the international stage from its formative base in Tasmania. Following a successful program in Solomon Islands, a number of neighbouring developing nations are well advanced in engaging with Learn Grow. Several African countries are also undertaking investigations. Recently, Learn Grow was one of the few groups to be granted a one-on-one audience with the Prime Minister during her visit to Tasmania. Through the Rotary network, Learn Grow continues to receive regular invitations to speak at District Conferences, intern
ational assemblies and conventions to showcase its work.
There is a role for you!
It’s a very busy and exciting time in the world of Learn Grow. But the continued expansion of the project is dependent on committed, enthusiastic volunteers with a wide skills set. We are pleased to offer you an opportunity to contribute your talents to assist the team at Learn Grow.
The following positions are currently vacant. Each is honorary, ongoing and is able to be tailored to suit the time you can make available to this inspiring project.
-
Journalist
Effective communication is central to any program and your skills as a journalist would be a boon to the project.
Once familiar with the project, you would need to adopt a pro-active role in identifying and producing newsworthy stories for media releases, newsletters, website, journals etc.
Just one or two paragraphs per week would make a major difference!
-
Agronomy / botanical / technical support
Link your skills in agronomy or botany to the extensive international database of Food Plant Solutions and it’s a potent combination! Work with members of the project team to develop technical resources on edible plants for countries with chronic malnutrition problems.
-
Marketer of disks
Are your talents in promotion and selling? Then we can offer you an untapped market for selling our fundraising disks, Food Plants in Australia and Food Plants in Tasmania. Commission arrangement can be considered.
-
Project managers
If your forte is project management, we have a variety of projects that will inspire you!
-
Facebook manager
We have a Facebook page but it needs your talents if it is to go viral!
-
IT and marketing support
Members of the team are regularly invited to deliver presentations to local, national and international audiences. Apply your skills in PowerPoint to help make each presentation one to remember!
Should your talents not be reflected in the roles described above and you would still like to be involved, please talk to us about your skills and how you would like to assist. The power of one, someone just like you, can indeed make a difference and we would welcome your contribution.
For more information, or to apply, please email your details and what you would like to add to the project to info@learngrow.org. You may direct any queries to Learn Grow on telephone (03) 6334 3990.
