Follow the Yellow Boat Road

Robert Pennicott and fellow skipper Mick Souter, from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys
will be departing Sydney on 31st May and embarking on a 12,000 nautical mile journey anticlockwise around Australia
arriving back in Sydney three months later. Their trip is divided into 77 segments, ranging from 60 to 420 miles.
On 48 of the segments, one or two seats per boat will be auctioned to the highest bidder.
All of this to raise funds for Rotary's End Polio Now program.

Sadly GSE has come to an end but I feel very lucky to be spending another 5 days ign Montana before the International Rotaract Convention in New Orleans.
I have loved Montana - the people and all the experiences. Thank you to Groupology - Chief PD, Dreward, Katiepop and Yoda - you guys are AMAZING!!!...
Thank you to all the Clubs in District 5390 who gave so much of their time to us; thank you to DG Ted Richey, District 9830 and the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West for their wonderful support and continued investment in GSE.
This is a fabulous experience and we are all so gratefull to have been given the opportunity. THANK YOU

 

 


 

Model United Nations Assembly MUNA 2011muna

Model United Nations Assembly was help on (MUNA) was held on 21-22 May
In Tasmania it is an annual project of the Rotary Club of Deloraine. Rotary Clubs sponsor grade 10 stu-dents who are allocated
a country to represent for the weekend.

Winners of the 2011 MUNA: Luke Turnbull and Dan Probert of Riverside High School, representing Germany.

They will now go onto participate in the National MUNA in Canberra in August.

 

 

 


 

PETS / Assembly

Planning for the 2011-12 year is now well under way. A well attended District Assembly allowed DGE Peter Murfett to discuss his plans for the year. Presentations from the President Elect Training Day (PETS) together with RI President Elect Kalyan Banerjee can be seen here.

 


Rotary Youth Leadership Awards RYLA

Twenty eight young people came together at Camp Clayton in May for a very professionally run leadership courrylase featuring addresses by presenters like Stan Alves and Robyn Moore, physical challenges and social experiences e.g. visiting retirement homes.

Congratulations to Course Director Jenny Simms, the facilitators, RC Ulverstone West and the 2011 Rylarians on a very professionally run course.
