Gift of Sight Project
A small group of Rotarians and partners will visit Nepal to experience the "Gift of Sight" eye camp to be funded by four clubs from our District.

Longford, Central Launceston, Deloraine and Latrobe successfully applied for a District Simplified Grant through the Rotary Foundation to support this project.
It is expected that 5000 Nepalese people will attend the camp and at least 500 will have their eyesight fully restored by cataract surgery.
Rotary Club of Hobart "Rotary Sail Day"
Sail Day is a major fund raising event conducted by the Rotary Club of Hobart on 8 February 2010. Hobart's yacht and cruiser owners combine to provide their vessels for a wonderful cruise to D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
Businesses and the general public are invited to participate. No sailing experience required. All yachts have experienced crews. Funds raised from Sail Day will benefit Sailabilty and other Rotary charities.

Australian Flood Relief
The Tasmanian Government will match Rotary District 9830 Tasmania dollar for dollar on fundraising for the Queensland Floods up to a maximum of $250,000 from the Tasmanian Government. Rotary International in Australia sees it's major role in disasters as a "second line "approach. With local Rotary Clubs throughout the disaster area they are well equipped to support recovery initiatives after the immediate disaster has passed. Funds will be managed by our Emergency Relief Committee.

Family of Rotary Day
Beautiful Brickendon, one of the jewels of the State's most recent World Heritage listing, will host the Family of Rotary Day in February. Organisers are preparing for up to 600 visitors to the 430ha (1150 acres) property at Longford on Sunday 6th February from 10 am to 4 pm.
It will also be the Annual Giving Day for Rotary Foundation when a representative from each club will be invited to present a cheque or pledge for Annual Giving .
Individual club amounts will not be announced, only the total raised.
End Polio Day 26 February
A Number of Events have been organised around this day to bring the public's attention to the End Polio Now Campaign.
IFCR TOUR TO TASMANIA
SATURDAY 12 TO SUNDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2011
The Tour’s purpose is to promote and recruit players and supporters to IFCR in Tasmania and to welcome this great sporting State into the known joys of this World Wide Cricketing Organisation..The Tour will be supporting District 9830 campaign to “END POLIO NOW”
It is hoped that all Clubs in the Devonport, Westbury - Launceston, Scottsdale and Hobart areas will support the game played in that region by attending the games and the social functions attached to each game. More details here
