The Rotary Foundation Rotary World Peace Fellowship – 2011-12
District 9830 intends to nominate a person for a Rotary World Peace Fellowship under the Professional Development Certificate Program and is now seeking applications from interested persons. The nominated applicant will be considered by The Rotary Foundation and, if successful, will study at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand for a period of 3 months in 2012 between January – April or June – August

Applicants should have:
- A commitment to promoting international understanding and peace
- A bachelor degree or commensurate experience with strong academic experience
- Minimum 5 years experience with full time employment in mid to upper level position
- Proven leadership skills

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Rotary Centres for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution program supports the mission of The Rotary Foundation to further world understanding and peace.
The purpose of the Rotary Centres program is to
- Support and advance research, teaching, publication, and practical field experience on issues of peace, goodwill, causes of conflict, and world
understanding - Inspire people to work for a culture of peace and tolerance while enhancing their capacity, knowledge, and skill by generating interaction between practitioners and academics
- Provide advanced international education opportunities in the area of peace and conflict resolution
- Provide a means for The Rotary Foundation and Rotarians to increase their effectiveness in promoting greater tolerance and cooperation among peoples, leading to world understanding and peace.
Candidates should consider these objectives carefully before applying and should be prepared to explain in their written statement and interviews how they would support these program objectives. In particular, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to community or international
humanitarian service, and working for peace.
