Branding your club
• Signs/banners at all events and ensure they are in good condition
• General branding of club, shirts, jumpers, hats, badge at events
• Rotary lanyard with your name and club – maybe easier to wear and see
• Create a one page flyer about your club that you can distribute at events to promote
your club
• Rotary business cards. Vista print – pay only cost of freight ???
• Wearing pins – not at Rotary events – eg work, other events
Public Relations Activity
• Monthly submissions to local newspapers and council publications
• Update club websites and link to district website
• Distribute club bulletins to library, doctor surgery
• Distribute used RDU and Rotarian magazine to library, doctor surgery, dentist,
waiting AND identify your club in it with contact details.
• Information at airports - Interactive displays
Working with media
• Promote club on local radio station - community notice board
• Choose which media outlets you need to target with your press releases
• Partner with clubs to purchase advertising space in newspaper for regular Rotary news
and events
Working with community and partnering with other organisations
• Attend community forums – particularly youth forums
• Liaise with other community leaders about your projects
• Associate yourself with local schools – look at ways to partner with schools
Planning
• Establish timeline when planning your PR and Marketing, before, during and after.
Evaluate your PR and club efforts after the event
Membership
• Membership - power of two, have two people responsible for bringing a member in.
• If members leave, conduct an exit interview, ascertain why they are leaving
• Have content that prospective members can take away with them
• Bring interactors and Rotaractors to your club, use them in your activities
Other
• Upload any video to www.youtube.com
• Targeted PR program – rotary Expo – Agfest Rotary Expo
