Storm the Stage

 

 

Electric performances thrill the audience in Storm the Stage state final

finals

Storm the Stage 2010 swept across the state in August and September and culminated in the State Final at the Playhouse Theatre in Hobart on Saturday 4 September. Sixteen teenage performers (pictured above) wowed an enthusiastic audience with dramatic monologues and musical theatre. 

The performances ranged from funny (Robert Manion’s “Purpose” song) [pictured here] to the serious robert(Jackson Trickett’s “Death of a Salesman”). 

The costumes were outstanding with some made specifically for the event.  While the judges deliberated at the end, the audience was treated to a sneak preview of Disney’s Aladdin Junior by Class Act Theatre.

The judges selected five winners to represent Tasmania in the National Final in Perth, Western Australia, in December:

The Rotary Club of City Central Hobart has been running the Tasmanian leg of Storm the Stage for five years.
The judges agree that the quality of the performances just keep getting better and better each year.
